A long time dream of mine was to go to "Keepsake Quilting", a store in New Hampshire, for the last 12 years I have been getting their catalogue, 4 times a years, and Morna & I sit and almost drool over them. Over the years we have ordered fabric and other supplies and always been very pleased, so to actually have the opportunity to go there was fantastic.

Our week went by too quickly, and we were off again. This time to San Diego, where more of our good friends live, Paul and Vicki, they have been to Australia several times and stayed with us. They actually live in Old Town, which was such a treat for us, so we stayed right in the middle of all that history of the early settlement of California.

We also went to the San Diego zoo, Walter went to the port and went to the Midway aircraft carrier, now a museum, he also saw some ancient sailing ships that were there also. We went on a lovely cruise, all around the harbour, and of course no stay in San Diego would be complete without a visit to the Hotel Del Coronado, I had seen it before, but it is certainly worth a second or even third look.

We went to Balboa Park, set high on the cliffs above San Diego, and had a great afternoon looking at all the beautiful buildings, built in very ornate spanish style.
Vicki took us to a great little ice-cream kiosk on the beach, where she & her sister had spent many happy hours when they were growing up. I decided to have a Banana split, I had no idea how enormous it would be, see photo, but I was able to make my way through it.

The weather was perfect, well for Walter, I of course was looking forward to seeing some snow.
San Diego is a beautiful place and we certainly enjoyed our time there.
We activated our rail passes there and set off for Monteray.

Every day brings a chance to live free of regret and with as much joy, fun and laughter as you can stand.

Wow. I wonder if that's the same covered bridge I remember. Could be - Vermont isn't very big.
