How one thing leads to another

Walter and I laid new floor tiles in the kitchen, today and it looks great, but now the cupboards look tired, so tommorow will be spent, sanding , painting etc., you know how it goes. It will look great when it's finished, will post some photos.

It reminded me of the last time I did some decorating.

Walter was away in SA, at Foster Farm helping with the harvest, so I decided to redecorate the living room, as you have seen in the previous photos.

Before he left, the walls were, off white, the exposed beams in the ceiling were still natural pine, the stairs were also pine, and the inside of the shutters were off white too.

Well I worked for days, painting the walls putting on the border, painting the exposed beams white, painting the stairs white, painted the scenes on the inside of the shutters, and finally acheived the desired result, which I really love, and thanks for all your nice comments too.

Well, my lovely husband arrives home, and we are standing in the living room, and I say to him "Well what do you think". He gives me this blank look and he says "About what?.

Men!!!! exasperating creatures, but it would be a pretty boring place without them.

May you never miss a sunset or a rainbow because you were looking down.

LOL!

I can relate to that story!

When I was young I would often have hurt feelings because my husband never seemed to notice any efforts I made... not even with a new hair-do or new dress!

Oh, well! As you say-MEN! :)

June

BTW- I LOVE the quote at the end of your post!

Hey Nan! I was in my new place for a week before I noticed that the lounge room was half wall paper half paint and the edging stuff that goes in the top corners of the roof was green in half the room and white in the other half and I only noticed because barbra was starting to finish off the redecoration one morning and asked me to help her move some furniture ;)
As the saying goes, "Can't live with them, can't shoot them..."
Home in about a month!! Whoo Hoo!! Seeya then!!

Ray probably wouldn't notice if I painted the kitchen green with orange polka dots but it took him two years to get over shifting the silverware from one drawer to another.

I don't want to appear a smart a**, well yes I do, but that's another story, but if you had painted first the tiles would have covered any mess Walter made.

BTW, you won't get spam because WV blocks "computer" entries, ie the words have to be read and typed.

Hi and thanks for the comment. You have a wonderful Easter as well if we don't chat between now and then.
