Two more boys

Thought I would show two more of my grandsons, the oldest ones in fact. They are the two smiling ones, taken at the the redheaded Daniel"s wedding, the one with little hair is his older brother Mathew. They belong to Vicki of "Fosters Farm".
I think they are pretty cute too, not sure they would like me saying that, but hey, I'm the grandmother and there have to be some privilages .

Both are married now, and Matthew has his own son, Phoenix, who has a sibling due at any moment.

There are six more boys, will post them, and the girls as well, over time.

It's quiet around here again, as the last family departed fairly early this morning. I have been able to use the computer, have a project underway and it is taking shape nicely.

Also busy cutting out some bears for a market on the weekend of the 29th. In the next town, well village would be more appropriate, they have a "Scarecrow Festival", everyone gets involved, all the houses, farms, stores etc, have scarecrows out for most of the month.
Scarecrows are not really a traditional thing here in Oz, so it's quite a tourist attraction, there are huge crowds there for the weekend. Have to see whether I can make a Scarecrow Bear. More about it later, and some pics.

Thought this might ring some bells. I apologise in advance if any of you have posted it before.

Flogging a dead horse.

The tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians, passed from generation to generation, dictates that when one discovers one is riding a dead horse the best strategy is to dismount.

But it seems the Indian way has been ditched in contemporary Australian tertiary education and government circles and replaced by more adavanced strategies.

These are a few examples~~~~

Buy a stronger whip.........Change riders.........Threaten the horse with termanation........Appoint a committee to study the horse.

Arrange a visit to other countries to see how others ride a dead horse........Lower the standards so dead horse can be included........Reclassify the dead horse as "living-impaired"..............

Hire outside contractors to ride dead horse.........Harness several horses together so as to increase speed..........Provide additional funding and/or training to increase the dead horse's performance............

Conduct a productivity study to see if lighter riders improve the dead horse's performance.........Declare that the dead horse does not have to be fed, it is less costly, carries lower overheads and therefore contributes substantially more to the bottom line of the economy............

Rewrite the expected performance requirements............And should all else fail............Promote the dead horse to a supervisory position!!!!

This is almost too close to the truth to be funny.

Life is short..Live it well. Posted by Picasa

Yes indeed. I'm stealing your dead horse analogy. It fits our educational system only too well.

A very fine post Jacqui, but you failed to mention Daniels Best man in the centre of photo, Josh, who is a Geelong footballer of note, Marcus may not forgive this.

Hi Jacqui ~~ Nice photos again. We always think our grandchildren are cute
and smarter than the average bear.
They are a real joy. Bye, Merle.
