I can hardly beleive it but I think I may actually succeed in getting these pictures to post. Now to the reason why I wanted them.
Merle requested some more images of my place, so here goes.
To the photo in my last post, because the windows are facing west and hot afternoon sun is very hot, we put shutters on the window and because I didn't want to look at the blank inside of them, I painted a "Salt box house in the snow" on it. Those of you who know me will know that I love winter and especially the snow. Not that we have any here in WA. It also shows the antique german sled that I bought at O'Hurley's General store in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, when we were there in 2004. It was a fantastic store, crammed so full, I'm sure you would find just about anything you wanted in it. The people who run it are direct decendants of the original owners.
The Amish Doll, I made yesterday, it was an order, and I think she turned out very well. I stayed in an Amish B & B,"The Lincoln House Inn" at Lancaster PA., in 1997, with a delghtful lady named Mary K. Zook. We have kept in touch and when Walter and I went over in 2004, we visited with her again. This time we stayed at "Ellmaker House", Gap,in Pennsylvania, which is a superb fully restored 1700's farm house.
The wall niche show here is actually an old window frame, that we fitted into the wall and added shelves, I love the way it looks. It holds some of my special treasures as well as a bear or two. I am an unabashed "Americaphile", I just love the place and it's country decor, like saltbox houses etc., which I have tried to recreate here.
In the rocker pic. is another of my bears, and some of my "barn" collection, also my lovely cut glass, some of which are very dear to my heart, being wedding gifts of my grandparents, which have survived constant use down through the years.
I hope I haven't bored ayone, but I love my little home, having designed and helped buid it myself. It is a happy place, many family visits and of course dear friends from Oz., as well as the US.
I will post more about my place and my travels, which only started in 1997 when for the first time I took myself on an overseas trip~~~~~~

June
Very good photos and story Jacqui, you may have been having trouble posting pics because there was
(a) too many pics at the one time
(b) the size of pics may have been too large, if you have trouble with future pics try re-sizing them to email size, email them to yourself if you want to.
Keep it up they are looking good.
Hi Jacqui ~~ Thank you for posting those
great photos. Your home looks lovely.
Glad you got them to work. Not too sure
that I could. I will keep an eye out for a talking clock like mine. It does give
the hour every hour, and reminds me to go to bed. Love, Merle.
Jacqui, I believe I must have become sidetracked on my way to your blog. Thanks so much for the comment and please come visit anytime.
I've grown quite fond of Merle. She brightens my day.
If you've already heard from me, please just consider this one of signs of approaching old age.
Ann (aka granny)
Hi Jacqui again ~~ Just a quick note
to tell you that John barracks for West Coast too. I watched the game. Merle.
Hi Jacqui, you asked about comment moderation, I'll copy what I told Merle about it;
Re comment moderation, I was, and still am. getting spammed every day, the spam still comes through but you can reject it before it gets onto the blog.
You don't appear to be getting hit very often so just go on the way you are going.
OK that's for Merle, you are not getting spam, (unsolisited junk advertising) because WV stops it, BUT I and everyone else hates those crazy hard to read words and comment moderation allows you to edit it out before it gets onto your blog, a bit more work but yes I prefer it.
